Building Community at 549 Broadway - A Collaborative Vision for Inclusive Living

At JELD-WEN of Canada, we take pride in contributing to projects that not only elevate architectural standards but also enrich communities. One such meaningful collaboration is our partnership with Concord Projects on the development at 549 Broadway in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

This four-storey, mixed-use building is more than just a structure; it’s a symbol of inclusive urban renewal. Featuring 21 affordable rental apartments, along with commercial and community spaces on the ground floor, the project is designed to serve the unique needs of Winnipeg’s 2SLGBTQ+ community, particularly older adults aged 55 and up.

A Place of Pride

Branded as Place of Pride, this development is a joint initiative led by the West Broadway Community Organization (WBCO), Westminster Housing Society (WHS), and the Rainbow Resource Centre (RRC). Together, these organizations envisioned a safe, welcoming, and affordable living space that also includes dynamic programming and support services tailored to the community’s needs.
